And then Stefan and Sabine headed back to Inverness and I caught a train to Glasgow where I stayed the night in the SYRA hostel there. That was an interesting thing to find late at night – through a frozen park up hill and across effectively an ice rink – I think they should revise their directions for winter!
I grabbed a 06:30 cab to get on a 07:00 train to Aryl, switch to another to Stranraer where I planned to get the 9:30 ferry with no time to spare. Turns out there was no 09:30 ferry as the website said there was! The next one is at 11:30, which is fine – but I could have slept in some more had the website been correct! Oh well.

I think I’ll stay a night in Belfast, depending on the cost to go down to Dublin, my BritRail pass expires after today and it may be useful for at least part of the journey down to Dublin.
